53gmc Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 As some of you might know from my other post I had some paint issues with my other 49 ford paint, and ended up ordering another kit for the body. I already had a spare body in my stash, but I had already radius cut the quarter panels. So the new kits chassis will be built as a vintage drag car. 1
53gmc Posted November 23, 2024 Author Posted November 23, 2024 Decided to swap out the kits engine options with a fi hemi from the Lil red wagon kit. Cut out the splash shields, moved the firewall back, and trimmed the interior tub to set the motorback. 2
53gmc Posted November 24, 2024 Author Posted November 24, 2024 Got the chassis and engine painted and assembled 4
espo Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Built this kit in much the same manor a few years ago and used the kits Cadillac engine with a parts box mechanical fuel injection setup that cleared the hood. These 1:1 Fords were popular in a lot of gas classes for their light weight and affordability. 1
53gmc Posted November 27, 2024 Author Posted November 27, 2024 Working on the interior. Rear seat delete, modified the roll cage. 1
53gmc Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 Interior is finished. Rear seat delete, modified the roll cage to a 6 point, pistol grip style to go with the Mopar drive train. Also added the tach, wiring, and painted the needles 1
slusher Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Really nice work! Is that the Gasman kit! 1
Tony Coomer Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Very kool builds. The 49 coupes are great looking body, a lil narrow in the rear but they build out so nice 1

53gmc Posted December 4, 2024 Author Posted December 4, 2024 Got this one wrapped up. Body mods include radius cut quarters, de-trimmed. I had painted the car black, but had issues with the paint like the other one so I stripped it down and painted it a matching gold color. Also set the firewall back and removed the splash shields. 1
Zippi Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 That's a nice lookiing 49 Ford Shoebox drag car. I'm diggin the color.
