BK9300 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Your frame detailing and now, weathering, really brings it all to life - well done!
Gary Chastain Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Your weathering skills look so natural, wish I had those skills. Well done.
k100 Posted April 15 Author Posted April 15 Thank you all for the comments. It’s time to move onto the cab since I cut the cab down and did a lot of sanding I lost some rivets want to replace the rivets , I have never use any type of rivet decals . My question is do I primer first then gloss coat or gloss coat then primer over it? any help is most appreciated. thank you
cifenet Posted April 17 Posted April 17 To be honest, I never thought of the rivet details to be super "important" on these trucks. I actually think they are way too pronounced and noticeable, almost making it look like it is out of scale... Believe or not, I intentionally sanded them down so I don't see them very clearly. In addition, I usually polish the surface also and those rivets are painful to polish around (I end up stripping paint on the rivets during the polishing process anyway). You can always go without them and I don't think it will make the truck anything less. However, if you really want to restore the rivets, I suppose those rivet decals can be useful. My thinking is, you want to make sure your surface is all taken care first. And this means you do want to get your primer applied and taken care the surface. Then clear can be used to improve adhesive of the rivet decals. What I do not know is, how much you can polish once the base coat and clearcoat is applied on top of the rivet decals... 2
k100 Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 Thanks Steve for comment . I did try the decal rivets I couldn’t get them work out so I decided to for go them . Just peeled the tape off the paint job , it didn’t turn out too bad I’m happy with it . Thanks for looking . 3

BK9300 Posted June 8 Posted June 8 Looks pretty sharp, Mark - I like the added detailing, like the stain on the fuel tank. 1
Biggu Posted June 8 Posted June 8 What a beauty ! Everything is so precise and the paint is perfect. Your choice of wheels really makes it. Outstanding.
k100 Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 (edited) Thank you Brian the fuel stain is from AMMO wash’s first time I’ve used them. Thank you Hakan. Thank you Jeff , I was going for a truck that worked hard but not abused .the paint turn out alright sprayed right from the cans . Thank you Steve coming from the master of 1/32 scale rigs. Had a little time at the bench today , got the rear wheels done, wasn’t happy with lug nuts that came with the wheels so I used Meng 1.4 mm nut and bolt castings , hung some chains a spear tire on the headache rack , and added some lights also added full fenders and a Loves mud flap (the other flap fell off some where down the road ) LOL . Have too add the roof lights ,horn and mirrors plus other little things. Thanks for looking . Edited July 4 by k100 1
