titino Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Lee and Seth, I deeply appreciate your intention, but shipping within my country is more expensive than what you can send me. I agree with the dimensions and with that I will make the piece. 2

53gmc Posted December 25, 2024 Author Posted December 25, 2024 Had the day off and got some painting done. Frames assembled, just needs to cure now 5
Jürgen M. Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Looks nice! Seeing that engine remembers me that I wanted to ask the truck pros here something: Did the old Macks actually sometimes have gold colored engines? I'm asking because I've seen it a couple of times already on Mack models and even before that I painted the engine of my "Love Machine" Cruiserliner that way. Got a real sh..storm on that in a German modelling forum! They said it looks crazy and weird and that color doesn't belong on a truck engine! Just curious if it's an authentic Mack thing or if I'm just not the only one who thinks it looks cool! Sorry for this long post in your thread but I just had to ask! 2
ShakyCraftsman Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 (edited) Hey Jürgen Yes Mack engines were painted gold. They were also a darkish gray. And 53gmc you did a nice job on that engine. Ron G Edited December 25, 2024 by ShakyCraftsman 1 1

53gmc Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 Finally wrapped this one up. Pretty much box stock. I did add the McLean decals , shorten the frame, and built a different exhaust stack 5
