OldFart Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I haven’t touched a model car since 1980. As a teen I loved building them. I would take my lawn mower money and buy my favorite cars. Now I’m old, kids are gone, I have more patience and money, but want to build again. I hope to gleam experience and knowledge with the new technology that I am sure has blanketed the modeling world. 1
Bainford Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Welcome to the forum, Durhl. This is a great place to get back into the hobby. Enjoy.
Tim W. SoCal Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Welcome to the community, Durhl!. There are still a TON of car kits from the 80s being repopped, but instead of being less than $5.00 each, they're now over $30.00 per copy... HOWEVER, thanks to companies like Atlantis and Moebius, some of our Holy Grails from the 60s and 70s are being cleaned up and re-released.
Jim Dodson Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Welcome to the forum Durhl, you'll be amazed at the change that has occurred in our hobby, most of them good LOL. By the way this old man has you beat. I built my first model in 1957. It was the AMT 40 Ford Tudor Sedan, quickly followed by the AMT 40 Ford Coupe. Those were great kits!! Enjoy your return to this great hobby. Jim D.
Mattblack Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Welcome along! Modeling seems to be a hobby that people (me included) seem to dip in and out of.
