I'm looking for a couple of sets of the stock non-sport mirrors, but keep coming up empty. Does anyone know of a source for these? Kit, aftermarket, diecast, a Ford/Chevy/etc. that looks similar in 1/25...I'm not too picky as long as it has the right general shape. Thanks!

Revell 68 and 69 Corvettes have one mirror that looks like the one on the left.

Someone may be 3D printing some.

I've looked for similar mirrors for Fords and came up empty. Been thinking of scratching them.

The Revell '68 Mustang has rectangular non-remote mirrors and the AMT '67 Mustang has a semi-rectangular remote-style for the driver. Those are all the Ford mirrors I can think of off the top of my head.

Thanks Steve, I'll check on the '68 Mustang.

I'm going to play around with 3d printing them.  I foresee a problem in that the mirror face will have layer lines unless I can get to print perfectly flat.  Will see what I can do.  I like the challenge.

If they're a success, I have a feeling there may be quite a few interested parties!

Here's a scratchbuilt example, for my 'Blues Brothers' Ford Pinto Wagon, quickly slapped together because of a deadline. It's three plastic parts: the mirror, the arm and the foot. The mirror was  thick piece of plastic card, trapezium-shaped, sanded on the front side to make it slightly bulbeous. The mirror itself is canted like in the movie. It's not perfect but it does the job.

It definitely looks the part, nice work! I had to do something similar when I lost a mirror on my Sandman, and if I only needed one or two I'd do it again. But needing multiple sets that (hopefully) look all the same was more than I wanted to scratchbuild right now.

After some careful research, it seems like the same mirror was used on most Mopar models from 1964 to 1970ish, except for E-bodies.  This one would only have been adjusted from the outside, and was rarely installed on the passenger side.  I made a passenger side anyways since it was easy to do after having already made a driver side.  The cable controlled mirror was slightly different.  I'll work on that one next.  Here are the first ones off the printer.  Anyone interested can PM me and I'll make up some sets.

Love that you included a “mounting pin” in your design. Looks awesome, I may have to order some eventually 👍🏻

Haha, my favorite quote! The moment they lift from their seats due to zero G (how was that done??) , I start laughing, and then that quote on top of it, I nearly wet myself 🙂

I put the quote on the fictitious shop display that I made for my model. But hardly anyone here (the Netherlands) recognises the car, let alone that quote.. But it doesn't matter, I love it 🙂

Likely on a sound stage with a crane or some sort of lift - their expressions, natural (i.e., the element of surprise).

The Pinto wagon was actually dropped from some ridiculous elevation, landing on a lot which stored road salt.

Around the 30 minute marque

Thanks for the linked video! It yielded a much better view of the 'White Power' sticker than I had ever seen before. I drew my decals based on a much worse screenshot from the movie itself.
