Mike 1017 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Long story on Oak Island. I will get right to the point. It has been suggested that Mercury was used to preserve Parchment. I can't find any info to back up this statement. Any comments are welcome. If I see or hear another discussion about that Lead Cross. I am gonna shoot my TV. Metaphorically. Thanks Mike 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 27 Posted January 27 A Google search of "mercury was used to preserve parchment" brings up a lot of hits. Your answer may be among them.
Tim W. SoCal Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Ya mean there's enough Oak Island left that those two yahoos can keep digging??!!?? 1
espo Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Part of the problem in locating the "Vault" may be attributed to one of the searchers years ago that went looking with a large CAT tractor and sort of stirred up half the island. I still find the story line about the history interesting, but the VOICE keeps repeating over and over what you may have already seen several times already. They can really drag this out, but as long as The History Channel is supporting this, they might as well ride that pony as long as they can. 1
LennyB Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I can't stand the narration anymore, especially "a potential important find". However I think that anything that was there has already been found but those who found it ain't talking. How did Samuel Ball live so high on the hog, huh. 2
slusher Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I watched it a long time ago and it wasn’t going anywhere and I lost interest.. 1
Mike 1017 Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 I enjoy the scientists and the archeological work that is going on. Being a coin collector finding a 2000-year-old Roman coin is pretty exciting. How did it get there? I also find it interesting that no graves have been discovered. What is so Mysterious about a nail? I do wish Marty and Rick the best of luck. Guy's your gonna make history. Thank for all of your comments Mike 2
A modeler named mike Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I've been watching this series since day one. Last night I've come to the conclusion that I'm being suckered in just to keep their ratings up and I believe I have to just tap out. Yes, some of the technologies used is pretty fascinating and some of the history lessons learned are equally fascinating but enough is enough. The show gives "repetitive" a bad name. I'll wait till the big announcement is aired on the national news to see what the Lagina boys finally find. 1
