Im in the final process of polishing out the paint on a 64 Fairlane. Then Id like to go over it with a round of Novus 1 and 2 and some wax

I want to install some photo etch, on the body. When is the best time to glue these on? Before the Novus or after the Novus and wax.

Id rather install them after everything, so I dont have to work around the P.E., and dig out the wax. But I also want them to stay on. :)

Thoughts and experiences are appreciated

Thanks

After everything is when I put p/e  on a car body...as in scripts and stuff..?

And I use canopy glue which when dry is clear and glossy, but needs time to dry

I would have to defer to the more experienced builders. But I would think after polish and before wax. I know wax and grease (and rubber/ vinyl treatment) must be removed before refinishing a real car so the paint adheres properly. I would think the same would hold true for adhesives

I will file that bit away for future use. I have never used PE. I just thought the bond would be as strong as the bond of the wax to the finish. But models aren't handled frequently, so I assume it is strong enough then. I've heard of people using clear paint to attach PE. Would that still work?

Thanks guys for the thoughts.  It seems like it ok to glue PE after wax. Which is the way Id prefer to do it

Thanks again

That's what I always use.

I've even used it to glue together painted pickup boxes with no problems.

I am not a waxer (yet). I take the path of least resistance (and least likely to fail) and use Future. It holds PE, decals and BMF very well. I also dries crystal clear. If you screw up, it comes off with household ammonia without damage to the paint.
