Finally got the photos taken for this as I had actually completed it on Saturday night. This was picked up at value village, and the original owner had started the built but didn't get too far. Some things were already painted, like the engine, and it was basically assembled already too. The car itself was already painted, and that was sort of the reason I turned it into a convertible. It was painted with a brush, several thick coats of black, and the front seats and headliner were painted red. In an attempt to keep the work level down on this build, I thought why not just get rid of the roof to bypass some of that sanding. So with the leftover convertible piece from my 1970 Pontiac Bonneville Sports Hauler, I created a convertible version of the '57 300C. The colour it wears now was a little tricky to spray over black, and it wasn't any easier since the can ran out just barely finishing a second coat. Could've used a third but it's pretty good.

I should take the time to thank @Horrorshow for supplying the chrome pieces and tailights for this build as when I recieved the kit every chrome piece was in fact missing and only one tailight was present. So thanks again for those parts, the build wouldn't have been possible without them; much appreciated.

Very well done. Ya done good saving that kit. I really like the color, it reminds me of the old AMT lacquers that were so popular a long time ago.

  • Thanks 1
