kensar Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Just finished this Schreder HP14 sailplane. This was the first completed model I designed and 3D printed. It is the T tail version which is not the original V tail design (I have that on the bench). This is the first design Richard Schreder made and sold as a homebuilt kit. He won the US soaring championship in one in the early 1960s. This is the 12th subject in my collection of 1/48 sailplanes. 3
stavanzer Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Beautiful Build. If you had not mentioned it's 3D origin, I'd have bet it was a kit from Eastern Europe. Good Show. 1
shoopdog Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Very cool indeed! I have to say I’ve never seen a model sailplane, thank you for sharing! 1
TonyK Posted March 4 Posted March 4 That is really cool......and a different type of model plane I don't think I've ever seen before. Very nicely done!
kensar Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 The canopy was made from a sheet of PETG clear sheet. A canopy mold was made with the 3D print. The PETG sheet was heated with a hot air gun and then smash molded over the canopy mold.
