Bill Anderson Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I'm building the Revel 1965 427 Cobra, and finished the motor and chassis and now I'm almost done with the interior. Well, it hit me, there are no interior door panels with this kit. Of course I then realized this model is built for racing, and door panels are just extra weight. That said, I want this to be "for the street" and was wondering if other cobra kits do in fact have door interior side panels. Sure would appreciate any info on this! Thank you Bill Anderson
Beans Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Don't know of a kit that actually has the door panels. Although I haven't looked for one either. Might be able to scratch build some. The seem to be generally minimalistic.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) The photo above is of a luxuried-up fiberglass Cobra copy. Real Cobras have, at most, carpet glued to the inside of the outer door skins, and floppy vinyl or leather pockets, like zo... EDIT: Link to another REAL car in a restoration shop: http://www.carclassicinteriors.com/shelby-cobra-interior-restorations.html#1967ShelbyCobra Edited March 19 by Ace-Garageguy 3
Bill Anderson Posted March 19 Author Posted March 19 Yes, there really isn't much to them. Not sure if I'll paint it flat black, or scratch a panel with a pocket or two. Thank you for the response!
Bill Anderson Posted March 19 Author Posted March 19 OKAY, I like that. You also verified that what I thought was the "door handle" is in fact just that! 1
