I had the pleasure of special ordering a '71Cutlass S with the W-25 scooped hood and HP350 back in the day and just loved that car. Great build 👍 Mate, I’m envious. Would have been an awesome feeling driving out of the dealership when you picked it up. 👍🏻
STU111 Posted March 28 Author Posted March 28 Thank you everyone for your kind words on the Olds. Apart from my botched attempt at painting it first up which resulted in a dip in the isopropyl alcohol bath, it was a very satisfying build. I’m really happy with how it turned out, I think being involved with the forum has helped me with pushing myself to try new things with model building. Cheers, Stuart. 👍🏻
XYHARRY Posted April 7 Posted April 7 G'day Stu, your 442 is absolutely stunning. Paint and detail are really well done. Thanks for sharing. 1
Papaof2 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I was very fortunate my father held many positions over the years at the local Oldsmobile dealership. He was provided a company car and it was almost always a hot rod . He drove every year 442's from 65 on. Many W machines, and every Hurst Olds the dealer got. The dealer was very fond of my father who was the ultimate company man and our family was allowed to use the company cars. When I turned 16 I had a 67 442 and my father's company car was a 1970 W30. You're depiction is spot on to the one he was driving with the exception it had white stripes. Your model is very well done and I commend your work. 1
Belugawrx Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Nice job on the 442 Stuart! Really nice paint and detail Funny you should put Ontario plates on it, I knew a Stuart Cox here in St. Catharines Ontario, some 25 years ago (or more). Cheers 1

Sounds like your Dad had some very nice fringe benefits with the job!

G’day David, thanks for the kind comments on the Olds. Haven’t seen any builds from you on the forum lately, hope to see one soon. 👍🏻
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Awesome build! I really like the text on the fan belt and the radiator hose! Those little extra detail makes it look so real! 1

Hopefully I'll have it done soon.😎👍 1
