Hmann68 Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Hi all…finished up a long project last night. Revell’s 1/16 Garlits ‘74. It’s box stock and it went well with a minimum of fuss thankfully. Revell Chrome Spray on a few pieces and the rear wheels. I’ve seen pics of the car with both black or red headers…not a fan of the red so I went with black. Tamiya paint and clear. Some Testors metallizer too. The frame was very straight out of the box and the panels lined up great with no fuss…lucked out I guess lol. Thanks for looking and all comments are appreciated. 😊😊👍👍 6 1

Yep the Revell Chrome is the best. A bit pricey but it goes a long way and looks better than anything else. It’s even just a bit more durable than Molotow etc. The best part is, you don’t need to dig out the airbrush, it’s fantastic right out of the can 1

Mike 1017 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Very realistic and spot on. I saw the 1:1 at the Garlits Museum
echo Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Impressive, nice details and the Revell chrome spray is everything it's cracked up to be.

I’ve been to his museum 3 times myself, love the place. Yep Echo the Revell chrome is great. I get nice results from one mist coat, let it sit 15 or 20 minutes, then a heavier coat, all right over bare plastic. Tried a black base coat and didn’t notice any difference so why spend the extra time in my opinion 👍👍

angelo7 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 What a great build! I think I saw this dragster in real life. I live close to the Don Garlits museum in Florida and I saw so many drag racing legends there and I know I saw a lot of his dragsters. 1
