I just want to share my experience with Gravity colors. I saw many negative reports on Gravity USA so I purchased direct from Gravity in Spain. Oustanding service. I was stunned when I placed an order on 3/26/25  and it shipped the next day. Today is 3/31 and the packge was delivered. Three bottles of paint ordered and delivered in 5 days from Spain to Oregon. I wish American hobby shops were this fast.

I can't wait to try the paint. I hear it's better than Zero which I've had good results with. The price of %.95 Euros is cheap compared with most model paints. The bottle is a full one ounce.

I have had absolutely nothing but wonderful service from Gravity Colors!  Their primer is all I use these days.  They are the first place I look when looking for a specific color.  I’m glad that you had a positive experience with them.

Same here.  Depending on need, I go to Gravity Colors (Spain, NEVER the USA), Firescale, Zero, SPlash, Scale Finishes or MCW.

I know MCW has lacquer paint. Do any of the others mentioned?

Todd, Gravity Colors, Zero Paints and Splash Paints are lacquers.  I have used all three brands.  Zero has a reputation for being "hot".  That has been my experience.  However, I have used their Pure Brilliant White on several models with no issues whatsoever.  I cannot speak to Fire Scale, MCW or Scale Finishes.  I have not used these.  Fire Scale does have lacquers.

Thanks John. I build a lot of nascar stuff with multiple colors and lacquer makes it easier.

What do you guys use for the detail items... Engines/Brake Rotors/Interiors?  Ive been out of the hobby for nearly 10yrs, so I'm looking for a paint that's easily accessible here in the US, and is easy to use for brush or airbrush.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with Gravity Spain over the years too.

GravityUSA hasn't existed (as in their entire web page is long gone) for more than 5 years now, so it's rather impossible to order from there by accident. Don't even get me started on the prior 3 years before that permanent disappearance.

I'll also toss out ProScale Paints based out of the U.K. as a possible source. $6 (U.S.) per bottle. Lacquer basecoat (requires a clear coat), and they'll custom mix nearly anything you can find a color code for at no upcharge. With the grand new taxation scheme in effect the U.K. import tax of 10% will be less than the E.U. one of 25%.

How would you rate the paint? I use a lot of automotive paints by house of color paints on my model bodies & ABS plastic truck bodies.

It is high quality paint.  I use it along with HOK, Zero, Scale Finishes, Firescale, Splash and MCW depending on what I'm painting.  They also carry a large variety of interior color options including sets to replicate Alcantara if you wish.

My ex business partner got us sponsored by them at the beginning and while everything was kosher over the first couple years, things went sideways with the owner and a weird falling out happened. He used a bunch of our builds for promos and lots of people got to see them... so at least that was pretty cool.
