Falcon Ranchero Posted Wednesday at 01:47 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:47 PM (edited) Another re-build of one of my favourite cars, the original Dodge Charger; essentially a Coronet witha fastback grafted on, and four bucket seats. This model was originally built in Feb. 2022, but had a bad blue spray paint job. The colour pooled and bubbled in many areas, though when I posted photos of it on here back in July I was able to use dim lighting to sort of hide the bad paint job. So, never being totally pleased with it, I had it redone, and with new rims; the set from my '56 Del Ray, and the center caps from the '66 T-bird. Now after sanding the car down, and re-spraying it with a Duplicolour GM Light Driftwood (something like that), it had a bit of a reaction with the remaining previous paint, and some of the bubbling was still in areas since I didn't want to sand too much as to not accidentally sand off the badging. Because the paint job was still not 100% (though the paint job is way better than the previous) I decided it was time to do intentional rust, as I had contemplated many times before. Not rust bucket, but more like "80s restoration that should be done again" type deal with some bubbling on the end of the hood, lower quarters, etc. Interior and engine compartment remain the same. happy grumpy Posted Wednesday at 04:57 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:57 PM Great save. I like the subtle rust spots, make it authentic. The pot holes in your photos are perfectly in scale with the ones we have here in Montreal. The repair shops here are very busy.🤑👍 1
satterwhite78 Posted Wednesday at 07:45 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:45 PM Color choice is definitely better IMO. The Dog dish wheels also look more appealing. Looks fast just sitting still! Build the Revell kit some years back and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have another but can't decide ( or find when to squeeze it in) to build stock or NASCAR. 1
