Big John Posted June 3 Author Posted June 3 (edited) Jim Hurtubise was indeed the last of the diehard Roadster faithful! Even has his driver name on the cockpit. Great homage to his memory. Edited June 3 by Big John
martsky Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Hurtubise was once in a crash that burned his hands. He insisted to the doctor that they be shaped to allow him to hold a steering wheel. Late in his career he entered Indy but couldn't find any sponsorship. He dragged his old roadster on an open trailer to the tech line anyway with a new "Coors Six Cylinder" sign on the hood. The tech crew open the hood to find it empty except for a six-pack of (you guessed it). 1 1
Big John Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 He passed inspection??? Or should he have had a case? 1 1
Phildaupho Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Here are my three and I just started the Greg Moore Players Reynard/Mercedes 8
Big John Posted June 6 Author Posted June 6 Beautiful clean builds Phil, and great photos. Poor Greg, he was one of my favorites at the time, always on the edge like he had one tooth more in his gearbox than anyone else. 1

Awesome, I really love this build, and the fantasy of it is something that I always want to do with modeling, but chicken out! You nailed it - so awesome. Can you post a few more close up images?

SteveRacer, Not much else to show. I really wanted to do a full detail turbo Offy but ended up with a kinda curbside build. As an example, I have no idea how the offset Offy could possibly be connected to the centrally mounted transaxle. Thanks for the compliment and, By the way, loved the He(R)k pun. Marty
Big John Posted July 12 Author Posted July 12 Very nice Duesenberg build. I had forgotten that this kit also had that really great driver figure.
