Calling it done.  In spite of the issues with the aftermarket conversion kit, I'm happy with the way this turned out.  Cab and chassis from the AFV Club M54A2 5 ton kit, wrecker conversion from Hobby Link.

Really nice looking wrecker. A good friend was a wrecker operator in VietNam, I should ask what he drove.

Very nice. Looks just like the one I operated in the Army, but mine was in camo scheme. Drove the 543 for 8 months then got upgraded to an M816. The 816 pulled way better.

Nice details on the wrecker build, good work!

Thanks, I added a couple of things that were missing in the instructions.

Thanks, there were a few different types, mostly on either the deuce or 5 ton chassis.

Thanks, you must have been after 'Nam, I can't recall seeing any in camo during that period.  Thank you for your service!
