BDSchindler Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I'm sure this has been asked before but I'll ask it anyway...has anyone ever purchased from Hobbyist Haven and if so, how was your experience? I'm considering it but they are outside of the US and after 50 years of working in Information Technology, I have seen too many things get hacked that I am a little bit leary of dealing with a company outside the US that I personally have never dealt with. There will be those that flame me for asking (which is not needed or asked for) and those that will understand...all I want to know is if they are legit and is their customer service good or not if an issue arises. Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming you got these from Hobbyist Haven?
R. Thorne Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I have ordered from them for a couple of years with good results. Back in November of ‘23, one order had not been shipped in a couple of weeks. I contacted them, they responded quickly, and the order was shipped in 2 days. I do understand your reluctance. Tools are mainly what I have ordered. Most of the time I prefer to deal with Scalehobbyist or Hobbylinc.
DJMar Posted June 8 Posted June 8 A few random thoughts: Hobbyist Haven is registered in Delaware, which is often used as a workaround for a non-US based business to have a presence in the US without actually being located in the country. They have their own website. There is a drop down menu on the upper right that shows you the site in about 10 different languages (including Arabic, Japanese and Korean). They don't actually list a physical location or phone number, and their only "24/7 support" is an email address. A good number of their product photos are labeled in Chinese characters. None of this is inherently bad, but I'd bet money they are located in, and ship from, Asia.
R. Thorne Posted June 8 Posted June 8 If you are considering Dspiae tools, by the way I have had good results (and better prices) dealing with the Dspiaestore.
