M W Elky Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) I have been waiting to build this car for a long time. Thanks to joe Curtis at freemont we have the decals . A big thanks to round 2 for reissuing this fine kit for us . The headers were a little tricky, and the front axle is a parts box mix . I made the side trim from some small square styrene strip. A can of duplie color is the closest color blue I could come up with. These AMT AWB kits are really fun and easy to build and they capture the look. As for the magazine issue there’s no article for this car only a cover shot . Here’s the parts breakdown AMT CHEVY 2 Awb funny car AMT 65 CHEVELLE AWB FUNNY CAR : engine, back wheels, slicks , front tires, rear polar lights funny car any : injector hat parts box : front wheels , front shocks, radius rods 0.080 styrene rod : roll cage solder , 3/32 aluminum tubing: headers freemont resin : decals aluminum tubing and panino wire : front axle until next time thanks for looking, Mike Edited June 20 by M W Elky Fixed # added text 9
papajohn97 Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Another magazine cover masterpiece Mike! I grabbed these decals off of Joe's eBay store awhile back when I saw them, this build is the first I've seen to use them. Bovan's story is a sad one, he evidently got involved in illicit drug sales in the early 70's in order to finance his racing and was ultimately murdered in a drug deal gone bad.
Rattlecan Dan Posted Friday at 12:21 AM Posted Friday at 12:21 AM Nice. Good looking replication. Good job.
