Good day, friends. I am sharing the latest builded model.

My first Heller, but unfortunately not the last. I want to add a few more models from them to my collection.

What can I say about the kit itself, it is terrible, really terrible. I would not recommend it to anyone. In my modeling memory, I have never assembled anything more terrible. Even the most old AMT/MPC would be better. The designations of the parts on the sprues and in the instructions do not match, the instructions themselves are not for beginners, uninformative. The only decals are license plates and a France sticker. Decals are some kind of darkness. They are so fragile that they break when trying to position them a little. There were 4 versions of license plates on the decal sheet, in the end I had only one left. The rest crumbled when I tried to align them evenly. After the final assembly, a couple of issues appeared that were not identified during subassembly. The set does not include glass headlights, the suspension parts look very bad out of the box. For some reason, there were a bunch of parts from their Citroen 2CV model left on the sprues. Oh well. I assembled it and forgot about it, like a bad dream.

I painted it with paints from Mr. Color - regular orange, semi-gloss clear, metallic and black primer from them.

From the modifications: headlights and glass in them from parts box, shock absorbers and their mount. Decal on the dashboard. Gas tank and its pipe, again from parts box.

The hood cover treacherously does not fit into place, unfortunately, I discovered this only at the final stage, when everything was firmly glued with cyanoacrylate.

Interesting contraption.  Looks like a "death-trap on wheels".  Despite your issues, it looks quite nice.  Well done.

At least we can now confirm where the VW Thing came from. VW clearly copied it. Unless the Thing came first.

Odd thing this. Well done.

I appreciate your honest opinion of this unusual kit.  Despite all the problems you've managed to really make the most of it so congratulations.

i always enjoy seeing offbeat subjects like this.
