Monty Posted Thursday at 01:33 AM Posted Thursday at 01:33 AM Wanting to add a vinyl roof to a '67 442, but don't know which strip would most correctly match the GM trim best. Would like the actual p/n as part of your reply.
Bainford Posted Thursday at 05:22 AM Posted Thursday at 05:22 AM Are you looking for the strip along the bottom of the C pillar? I would guess it is between 1/2" and 3/4" wide, maybe closer to 3/4" (anyone have a better intel?). Evergreen #100 is .010" x .020" (equal to 1/2"), and Evergreen #101 is .010" x .030" (equal to 3/4"). The .010" thickness (equal to 1/4") may be a bit thick, but the thickness it easily sanded down a bit after it is glued in place.
NOBLNG Posted Thursday at 12:20 PM Posted Thursday at 12:20 PM (edited) Here’s a link to the Evergreen site. https://evergreenscalemodels.com/collections/14-white-polystrene-strips For this Chevelle I used 0.015”x0.020” which would be #110 Evergreen. And a 1:1 ‘67 Olds. Edited Thursday at 12:21 PM by NOBLNG 1
Monty Posted Thursday at 12:54 PM Author Posted Thursday at 12:54 PM Thanks, guys! Do I want a half-round or…?
Bainford Posted Thursday at 03:00 PM Posted Thursday at 03:00 PM All the Evergreen products mentioned by Greg and me are rectangular cross-section, which is what you want. Also, judging by Greg's example above, I would definitely stick to strip that is .020" wide. For .010 thick strip use Evergreen #100 For .015 thick strip use Evergreen #110
