stavanzer Posted August 1 Posted August 1 I have lots to trade. Looking for Tractor Wheels. Two Fronts, Two Rears. Can be from any 1/24*1/25 kit. Built-Painted anything will work. Scratchbuilding a Doodlebug, and wanting some suitable Wheels. Thank You!
stitchdup Posted August 1 Posted August 1 I would look for the front wheels from a heller 70s fergie tractor (mf2360 i think) for the rears, they are smaller than the rears on the other tractor kits and look more like those on the doodlebugs i've seen. Fronts from an aa truck might work too as many fordsons on this side of the pond had similar wheels. I've been helping with a vintage show today and fordsom are 80 this year so we will have a lot of them on display. I'm guessing at 200 tractors from before 1970 1
stavanzer Posted August 2 Author Posted August 2 Thanks, Les for the great Tips. I'm really just looking for any Tractor wheels I can get. Beggars can't be choosers when looking for Model Tractor parts.....
TarheelRick Posted August 3 Posted August 3 (edited) It may sound crazy but check out some of the diecast tractors and small-scale monster trucks in the toy section of Walmart or Tractor Supply. I bought a Hot Wheels type monster truck to get the pulling tires for a build I am working on. Edited Friday at 08:20 PM by TarheelRick 1
1930fordpickup Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I second the toy isle. I can not say I have seen 3 doodle bugs built the same way. The only constant is a big truck rearend. Only seen a hand full with tractor tires and 2 were on steel. Many that I have seen used the bigger truck tires and wheels out back but not duals. These were guys that used what they had or could afford. This is a long drawn out way to say anything goes.
stavanzer Posted August 4 Author Posted August 4 I can find Monster Truck tires on Diecasts all day long. The Narrow, Old School Tractor wheels are harder to find., but I have not looked at Tractor Supply. Thanks for the heads up.
LDO Posted August 4 Posted August 4 There are plenty on eBay, too. Hard to beat this price. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=1%2F24+tractor&_trksid=p4624852.m4084.l2632&_sacat=1188 1
Fat Brian Posted August 4 Posted August 4 I've also seen some tractor toys at second hand stores that could be used for parts. 1
