For several weeks now, have been trying to find (locally) the small bottles of Testor's Orange paint.....   (we now live in central Kentucky)......  Local Hobby Lobby stores, no go,  Hobbytown (Bowling Green) no go, yesterday the wife and I traveled to several different Hobby Lobbys in the region, no luck......

Is this "one of the things" that now comes out of China that's being delayed?  Anybody got a clue??????

I don't think Rustoleum (owned by RPM) manufactures Testors paints in China, but I could be wrong. Stranger things have happen.

If this is accurate info:
Rust-Oleum manufactures product in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; Hagerstown, Maryland; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Lesage, West Virginia; and multiple other locations in the United States and Europe.
No China is mentioned.

But  (especially since COVID pandemic) it  seems that most consumer products are now manufactured in batches with some periods of unavailability before new batch is made available.  I notice this a lot with all sorts of products.  You might have to try finding and ordering it online. Yes, the shipping charges are usually outrageous (for a 1/4 oz. bottle) but think of how much gasoline you have used up  driving around looking for it locally.

Stores carrying that paint don't order one color to refill the rack.  They wait until they need several colors.  And that only happens when someone at the store actually looks at the paint rack and figures out that some is needed, or when it is brought to their attention.

Sometimes they'll move a duplicate bottle of a color still in stock to the empty space to make it appear as though they're fully stocked.

My local Hobby Lobby, for quite awhile now has not re-stocked any Model Car Paints, bottles,  aerosols, Creatix, or Wicked. The shelf spaces for all modes are shrinking. You can get Christmas stuff now.

Just got off the phone with Mike......  Orange is on back-order thru his warehouse supplier.......    He is able to order in single colors, but they only ship 6 bottles per color at a time, so his usual is to let it get down to three of a color, then reorder.  Guess if it's on back-order, must be like Peter said, just waiting on the next production run before will be available again.....  "Just a test of patience".....😉

Don't know if this is a help, but MCW is doing small jars of enamels now, has engine specific, metals and even a tinted carburetor color.
