Bugatti Fan Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Some YouTube videos showing actual builds are brilliantly conceived and produced. Unfortunately a great many are pure drawn out dross, and a huge proportion of the box opening videos are just that. 2

Bugatti Fan Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Could be right there Sid ! When you think about it much of our lives are spent just doing routine chores
Beans Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago YT can be ok but is quickly becoming more garbage than information. The majority of the "content creators" aren't trying to pass along knowledge or help others or educate. They are trying to get free stuff. I watch my teenage daughter and her friends. They all make the same kinds of videos (I won't let my daughter have a YT account). They all want to get the clicks and likes. Why? to get free stuff. They inundate companies they like and request free stuff. They say they will hype in on their channel. Its all one big advertisement. The older kids thought they would get rich having other people watch them play video games. That kind of died out. I can count on one hand the number of model related YT videos I have watched all the way through. Mute - look at what is in the box - back arrow. I learn more on techniques and skills on this forum than I ever did on YT. And don't even get me started on FB.

Not knocking any creator, but the wealth of skill and knowledge here vastly eclipses what I've seen on YouTube. I use YouTube as a "third source", if at all, for a technique or product review.
