Technics Posted December 2 Author Posted December 2 I went onto adding some colour into the mix to cheer things up a bit. Masking was stressful as any chrome like paint does not like being handled, let alone masked on. Tamiya flat yellow went on in a thin coat. I adjusted the paint line and had some fun with some further weathering. Started adding details to the body. Few rounds of hand painting the motor and building up light tones on the exhaust bits. It’s really taking shape now. 5
Technics Posted yesterday at 06:19 PM Author Posted yesterday at 06:19 PM I leaped into the interior. I mixed a decent colour match from paints I had to a photo reference. I’m happy with the result. I had some colours in the basket I could have easily bought but this was far more rewarding, but much harder! Definitely took a few attempts. All of these are loaded with MLT so the stank is real 😆. Again, a combo I haven’t not done before, usually I’ve done all black in the black but time to live a little. The colour will pop a bit with a final satin finish and a wash. I surprised myself with the idea for the upholstery, thought I’d flock the areas but think this will look much more accurate and pretty fun to do. I tried to follow the general seams from reference. I may make a thin sausage from a putty or wall tac to mimick the circular seam endings of each puzzle piece. Just having some fun, it’s not entirely accurate. Disregard the colour I will paint it all to match the reference more. 4
Badge73 Posted yesterday at 06:52 PM Posted yesterday at 06:52 PM One of my favorite WIPs on here. What are you using for the upholstery?
