tahiti7 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Just finished this yesterday. The first lightning bolt decal gave me fits so Ieft them off. Nicely detailed kit. Looks nice sitting next to my 1:48 scale B17 Flying Fortress. 8
stavanzer Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Excellent Mustang! If you listen closely, you can hear that Packard Merlin fire up. Good Show.
shoopdog Posted Saturday at 09:59 PM Posted Saturday at 09:59 PM Great build and a spectacular cockpit!
tahiti7 Posted Monday at 02:04 AM Author Posted Monday at 02:04 AM Thanks Pappy, Shoopdog, Stavanzer and Jim!
bh1701 Posted Tuesday at 03:55 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:55 PM Looks great! What did you use to get that shiny silver finish on it? Going to be tackling a plane model soon that will need some shiny silver in certain areas. Mostly build car models, so planes are a little new for me. Thanks, Bart

Thanks, Bart I usually build just cars also, this is just the second plane I've built since getting back into the hobby a few years ago. I used Tamiya TS-83 metallic silver. Tamiya recommends using TS-14 black as a primer for it, which is what I did. However the TS-83 is about $23/can!

It is an expensive paint - I looked at Hobbytown USA's website and it around $19 ( but it is Out of Stock!) I will consider using this for my plane, but I'll also ask the experts here for other ideas once I receive the kit. Bart
meechum68 Posted Wednesday at 02:32 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:32 AM That is awesome!! I would love to see it next to the B-17!
