Swamp Dog Posted Wednesday at 06:24 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:24 PM Been working on this off & on for a few months. everything has been painted. the hardest part so far was adding the small engine cover bolts. cylinder shaft are made with uxcell 304 Stainless Steel and inter K&S tubing. looks way more better than any painted or bare metal foil plastic. i had to use two different size as i could not find the right OD & ID in the same size tubing. mounted cylinders beside the blade and cylinders on each side of the pivot point. installed the log grapples, added decals. i just temporary pined the two half's together sat the cab , winch, blade & tires on it to see what it looks like. a 3/16 brass rod runs thru the axles to inside the tires. sure gonna be hard for me to dirty it up...lol..still a long way to go. 12

Chariots of Fire Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago That's really something! However, I have never seen one quite so clean and neat! Time to get it just a little bit dirty and with the paint taken off the claw and plow! 😎

Chariots of Fire Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago No mud. Just a little wear at typical places where the paint would rub off.😃 1
bytownshaker Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Wow! one of the most amazing projects I've seen in a while. It will hard to dirty it up but it bring out all the detail.

It will hard to dirty it up but it bring out all the detail. Maybe not so much. Things like hydraulic fluid around pistons, grease drippings around articulation points, etc. bright shiny bare metal for the grabber surface and blade on the rear, dusty but not muddy tires, slightly worn tire contact surfaces. Even worn off paint where the operator walks and grab handles, door edges where constant contact wears the paint off. These kinds of things are easy to do with light washes, weathering powders and the like and they don't take away from the details of the piece. They just enhance without making it look like a muddy mess. 1
