I won this kit at auction for $5.  Going to clearcoat the body once I add the stripe decals to it.

I assembled the wheels and tires and the basic engine which I will paint red. I am also prepping the body for decals and clearcoat.

Not sure I'd clear it if there are mold lines. Interesting than mine is molded white.

There are no mold lines on the body!  Otherwise, I would paint it!

You have one of the original releases from the 80's. Hence the color of the plastic. Hope the decals are still good. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

I separated the parts that I have to paint flat black. The front grille, gas cap and the bumpers. The engine is nearing completion.

The 345 CI 4-barrel V8 is complete with wiring and an ignition coil.

I was worried that the decals would disintegrate as soon as the hit the water. But, alas they didn't! The decals did take a little longer to come off the paper backing, but I expected that would happen. Now to clearcoat the body when the decals are dry.
