mrmike Posted October 14 Posted October 14 I won this kit at auction for $5. Going to clearcoat the body once I add the stripe decals to it. 5
mrmike Posted October 15 Author Posted October 15 I assembled the wheels and tires and the basic engine which I will paint red. I am also prepping the body for decals and clearcoat. 2
Sledsel Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Not sure I'd clear it if there are mold lines. Interesting than mine is molded white. Keep us posted!
mrmike Posted October 16 Author Posted October 16 There are no mold lines on the body! Otherwise, I would paint it!
Goose1957 Posted October 23 Posted October 23 You have one of the original releases from the 80's. Hence the color of the plastic. Hope the decals are still good. Can't wait to see how this turns out. Jeff
mrmike Posted October 25 Author Posted October 25 (edited) Thanks Jeff! I hope the decals are still good as well. I separated the parts that I have to paint flat black. The front grille, gas cap and the bumpers. The engine is nearing completion. Edited October 25 by mrmike 2
mrmike Posted October 30 Author Posted October 30 The 345 CI 4-barrel V8 is complete with wiring and an ignition coil. 3
mrmike Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago I was worried that the decals would disintegrate as soon as the hit the water. But, alas they didn't! The decals did take a little longer to come off the paper backing, but I expected that would happen. Now to clearcoat the body when the decals are dry.
