Holley Question

IYO what would be the best representation of a kit provided 750 Holley carb in 1/25th scale? No resin. Thanks.

Right off hand, I don't remember any "decent" 1/25 scale 4779 Holley 750 carbs in any of the kits, there was a "reasonably decent" replica in the old Revell ASA kits, but if I'm remembering correctly, those were 1/24  (not that it's very noticeable on a 1/25 engine)......  Downside:  OOP kits, not too cheap now, and availability not so good either, only to get a carb.........  There are several GOOD outlets available (and members here) that provide 3D printed versions (since you're opposed to resin},  Texas 3D for one.    Hope that helps......

The ASA kits are listed as 1/25 and yes, they have rather nice carbs. Not sure why you're ruling out resin, but Fireball Modelworks has some excellent pieces.

My apologies!!!!  Went brain dead!!!!  YES, ABSOLUTELY!!!!  Fireball has some of the VERY BEST looking carbs available on the market, and in both 1/24 and 1/25 scales,  THANKS for bringing that to light, will probably be one of the best sources.   I thought his was  3D printed??????

Thanks for the responses gentlemen, I think I have one of the ASA T-birds in my stash from a purchased lot I'll take a look.

RancheroSteve, I've had zero good luck with resins so I avoid them like the plague. ( And I'm Cheap ).

Apparently some of his parts are now 3D printed, but I believe the carbs are still resin cast in order to get the detail he wants. They really are outstanding and his service is first-rate.

Also,  RON COON RESINS does both resin and 3D printed carbs, the newest 3D printed Holley (without air horn) is really pretty nice (have a stash of them)'

Neither excuse seems to apply (crappy plastic kit carburators are neither good or cheap nowadays).   And as far as resin goes, what specific type of a problem have you experienced with resin parts? Polystyrene is also a type of resin you know. 

And while the Fireball's carbs do  look like they are cast from polyurethane resin , I bet dollars to donuts that the master pattern is 3D printed.  Those have way too fine level of detail to be scratchbuilt by someone.  Their bases even show artifacts of 3D printing.

I like his Predator carburetor, think the number is CARB-6. Very nice detail.

Over the last 40 years I've amassed a plethora of extra parts so if I have a specific part already in my stash I'd much rather use that because it costs me nothing.

So unless a caster wants to pay me to use their offerings I'll stick to the 'free' stuff I have on hand.✌️Nothing beats free stuff.

I try to use up old stuff... but the 3D carbs blow away most slush cast resin pieces. The old stuff.. I generally give away.
