mrmike Posted Monday at 05:01 PM Posted Monday at 05:01 PM I won this kit during the Club raffle last Saturday afternoon. I was able to find the proper 15" Rallye Road Wheels in my stash for this Hemi Charger. Now I want to build it! I have plenty of Testors Hemi Orange paint in my paint drawer, but the box art is calling out to me. What should I do? 2
dwc43 Posted Monday at 05:08 PM Posted Monday at 05:08 PM I'd put the Road Wheels back on it. That's what you are going to see on most factory cars. Go with anything but green. don't recall ever seeing a stock car with the black stripes on the hood like that either. Nice car though. I had a 1:1 69 model, yellow with a white top and a 440 auto black interior.
TopherMcGinnis Posted Monday at 05:12 PM Posted Monday at 05:12 PM Sassy Grass Baby! 2 things you don't say about what Mother Mopar did: Always & Never. 2 1
sak Posted Monday at 05:25 PM Posted Monday at 05:25 PM Not fond of the rally wheels, therefore, I would use the magnun 500's. As for the color, google the 1970 color chips. Try a color that nobody uses and stands out from the pack. " cream" , for example. 1
gtx6970 Posted Monday at 05:44 PM Posted Monday at 05:44 PM (edited) I have that kit and this is THE very car I plan to replicate FY1 Yellow, Tan interior sunroof and trunk mounted luggage rack Edited yesterday at 04:43 PM by gtx6970 2
DJMar Posted Monday at 06:15 PM Posted Monday at 06:15 PM I must be in the minority, because I love Chrysler Rallye wheels. Clean and classic. They have my vote. As for the color on any 1970 Mopar, ya gotta go High Impact. C'mon now. Sublime! Top Banana! Go Mango! Panther Pink!
1972coronet Posted yesterday at 01:22 AM Posted yesterday at 01:22 AM FJ5 or FJ6 would look nice on that '70 ( I'm more of a fan of the slightly-darker FJ6 ) . May I recommend a complementary green interior ? 1
charger74 Posted yesterday at 02:55 AM Posted yesterday at 02:55 AM I just started one also. Mine will be plum crazy with a White vinyl top 1

Of all of the Chargers shown on this page, they are 440s, not Hemis. The more I look at the box art, the more I want to go green. I'm going with Testors Green Go! All the Hemi cars wore 15in. wheels. Most perfromance models used them.

This is incorrect 1966-67 hemi cars were 14 inch ONLY 1966 were 7.75-14 Blue streaks side wall ( there is some information they MIGHT have used whitewalls as well. , but nothing written that Ive seen ) 1967 were F70-14 redlines 1968-69 Were 15 inch F70-15s ONLY Redlines or white lines 1970 were 14 inch standard, with F70-14s - could be RWL or pinstripe whitewall , And 15 inch with F60-15s with RWL Im not sure on 71s what was standard 1970-71 E bodies were 15 inch with F60-15s ONLY RWL only Edited yesterday at 04:58 PM by gtx6970 1 1
