I somehow ended up with 3 Fremont resin sedan bodies a while back and just recently acquired a couple Moebius Dave Strickler kits.  I always preferred the looks of the sedan, so, hey, why not chop the hardtop off and graft the sedan top on.  I would like to build the Kentucky Colonels car, the Grand Spaulding blown car or the Bill Flynn Yankee Peddler car, but no decals are currently available for these cars, so we will see what happens.  It may just be a no name car.  Anyway, my humble efforts at the surgery involved are presented here.

Some more sanding with the Ammo by Mig sanding stick mainly (wish someone made a round version of them).  May just make my own out of 1/8” styrene rod and some foam backed sandpaper.  Cleaned the top with some 70% alcohol wipes and put some primer on to show all the bad places up.

Ron I don't know if you noticed that the Sedans front wheels were not moved forward only the rears on the Grand Spaulding car.

Sharp eyes, Edgar.  In the 2nd pic with the Gary Dyer signature, it looks like the front end has been extended, however.

Neat..I seem to recall that Moebius was planning an AWB '65 Dodge Coronet 2dr sedan in addition to the AWB ht that came out a while back..

That’s a ambitious project Joe at freemont resin makes the Grand Spaulding decals for the red sedan I got a set from him and they look really nice

Thanks for that information, Michael.  I sent him an email to see if they are still available.  Not listed on his eBay site.

I think I remember reading that the sedan was not one of the factory done altered wheel base cars, but that's coming from an old man lol

The Hard Top was the ex Roger Lindamood Color Me Gone factory built car.

Correct. Amblewagon  did the original 12 cars and they all were 2 door hardtops

EXCEPT Bill Flynns  Yankee Peddler was the only sedan done by them AFTER the original 12 were done

Any others were privateer shop conversions

The red Mr Norm sedan car was done 1st moving rear axle only at the beginning. But the Ft axle was moved a short time later

The blue/silver hardtop, (Then red silver ) was the Lindamood Color me Gone car

Norm also owned the Butch Leal 2 door hardtop car as well. But it was crashed on the streets of Chicago and parted out before it ever hit the dragstrip as a Mr Norm car livery.

As to what order the 3 cars were owned/raced ,,,,, I have no idea EXCEPT I think the sedan was the last one.

Ps, Fred Cady made a sheet to do either of the Norm AFX cars

And I think Southern Motorsports now owns the rights to the Fred Cady decal line and was doing them

Not sure if they still are or not
