TECHMAN Posted Tuesday at 04:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:29 PM Was at our local Walmart yesterday, and they were setting up a new display for the Christmas season, so decided to run back by there this morning to see "what" was going to be in the display. Was pleasantly surprised!!!!! NO COKE KITS, but rather, a really NICE assortment of kits. Would take a page to attempt to list them all, but were mainly the newer (and newest) AMT/MPC/REVELL kits, all priced at $19.97........ Some of the kits that have been out for a bit, but, all in all, a nice enough assortment that most hobby shops would do well with. It's a shame they don't do that year-round...... (it's either 45 miles, 55 miles, or 70 miles from here to buy a model kit, normally)..... DJ 1
Mr. Metallic Posted Tuesday at 06:53 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:53 PM Maybe amend your post to remove the Revell kits? It's an Round2 display, so no Revell kits on there. Too bad every Walmart doesn't carry the display. So far none of mine have it, although the only model I'm interested in is the Sundowner, and that's just of I stumble across it. 2 1
Sledsel Posted Tuesday at 07:25 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:25 PM I stopped at an out of the way Walmart and they had kits, and a decent selection with fresh box art. Well, it was actually a bad move wallet-wise, came home with 4 kits. 2
meechum68 Posted yesterday at 02:16 AM Posted yesterday at 02:16 AM I will be at Walmart this weekend, will take a look see as well! I am hoping but not holding much hope! But, I am glad to see that they are at least putting them out at some locations! 1

Our local Walmart has "skipped" the past couple of years because of the large amount of kits they had to put on their clearance shelves when they received two displays in a row that were overloaded with 41 Plymouth "Coke kits"....... ( I bought 4 of them for less than $20 including tax, didn't need them, but at that price)...... At least this year, lots of choices here!!!! 😊 DJ 1
maxwell48098 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago None of the local Walmarts in my area have sold models since they were dropped from the toy section years ago. Asked two of the store managers why, and they both said that they don't sell well of generate enough profit of other products that they can sell in the same space. And it's only about profitability that they can generate in their stores that matters to the higher ups. 2
TarheelRick Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Raided my local WalMart's model display a week or so ago. Since this picture was made, went back and got the 65 Mustang GT and the 69 Galaxie kit. 3
TECHMAN Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago I went by our Walmart this morning, model display has been getting a workout!!!! Good to see, maybe help the "powers-that-be" decide to get in more models...... Anyhow, went ahead and grabbed one of the 71 Duster kits (wife used to drive one, way back when) and look thru the rest of the kits. And to try to be more accurate: CRAIG is correct, kits were all AMT and MPC, no REVELL. I stand corrected, guess I was day-dreaming when I thought there were Revell kits too...... (that or WISHFUL thinking)😊 DJ 1
