Good looking stuff at seemingly very reasonable prices. Has anyone tried this stuff? I would be interested in knowing a bit more about the quality, being made of chinesium and all. Hhmmm... I've been wondering what I need to get myself for Christmas. 1
SfanGoch Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Get a fractal vise, too. They're perfect for holding odd shaped parts. 1
Callelk Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago A friend of mine worked as a machinist at Lawrence Livermore Labs and he once told me that he had to use an electron microscope to measure holes that he had drilled. Of course I did not believe him as he mentioned some impossibly small holes but now I'm rethinking that after reading the OP's post above. They do/did some strange stuff there. I was supervising concrete trucks that were pouring at one of their test sites in the early 80's and I'm still under an NDA and can't disclose some of the the bizarre things I seen and was told about.
NOBLNG Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) What baffles me is what kind of precision equipment is used to manufacture a drill bit that tiny?🤯 https://www.google.com/search?q=how+are+microscopic+drill+bits+made Edit: I found this video. The setup seems very labor intensive. Edited 9 hours ago by NOBLNG 4
