FujimiLover Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 The first movie had the Subaru, the second movie had the Mitsubishi. I've got both on Ipod and I've seen'em both billion's of times so I should know! The Subaru was the jet-powered car as seen in your photo. The Mitsubishi was a submarine much like James Bond's Lotus Esprite. Remember when Jackie and his partner dived into the lake to evade the police car? Remember when they hooked onto a fisherman's hook and pulled their boat along?
Greg D Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 (edited) Love the Bright Caramel 80 Mustang Cobra - would like to find a full size one. Would definitely not turn down a Black / Green graphics car either. This might be fun, let me see if I can scrounge the old MPC Stang Cobra. Edited June 27, 2009 by Greg D

I don't recall seeing one of those in these two movies. If you can find a picture of it from the movie, please post it.
guiwee Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Well it would be nice to post exactly what the cars are. Id love to particpate.Anyone out there that could compose a list of cars that was in the movie? Its old movie so kits might be hard to come by!!
FujimiLover Posted June 28, 2009 Author Posted June 28, 2009 There is a web site dedicated to cars in movies and should have the full list of cars used in both films. I don't have the link at the moment, but perhaps somebody else does and will post it. The web site is very good at identifying each and every car used even if it wasn't a main "character" car. As for this build-off, I'm more interested in the main "character's cars" than the "extras".

Yes, but the only model available and I could remember was the MitZ. I have the Van but I have too much to do so I couldn't join in the fun. Now If someone made the Chrysler Imperial that Burt and Don used. Now to find the movies and watch them again and again. Edited June 28, 2009 by Zukiholic
Dingo Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Guys the Subaru used in Canonball was an early Leone 4x4 known in Australia as the "Touring Wagon" in the movie it was a shorten version bit like a 2 door hatch. I would like to have a crack at this build but don't have a kit to use and won't have til the end of the year so I guess I miss out oh well sadness is todays expression for me, but I'll look in on all the builds to see how they are going. FujimiLover Posted June 28, 2009 Author Posted June 28, 2009 My fellow Cannonballers, I'm giving this build-off a full year so that should be plenty of time for everybody who want's to participate be able to do so. I'm not even sure when I can participate in my OWN build-off here. Right now I'm in the process of moving from my smaller bed-room, to the larger guest room which has two window's instead of one, so better air-circulation in summer, and will have a door to the bathroom for a more private bathroom. And that's going to take a full week to move all my junk. So, there should be plenty of time. Like I said, the dead line will be exactly a year from Farrah's passing away date. I think she died in the morning but don't know exact time. So we'll make it 12 noon for the dead line date. This should be a fun build and I look forward to seeing what you all do!
FujimiLover Posted June 28, 2009 Author Posted June 28, 2009 what about bruce willis or nicolas cage? theyer great actors too! and you hear about patrick s.? he isn't going to last to long either! Patrick S? I hope you don't mean Stewart AKA Captain Jean Luke Picard. He's one of my favorite actors! I forgotten about the Cobra that Frank Sinatra drove in C.R. II. I wonder if they used the same Ferrari that the "Priests" used in the first one, as an extra in the second one. Also, I noticed two Dino's. A gold one in the first, and a purple one in the second.

FujimiLover Posted June 29, 2009 Author Posted June 29, 2009 Oh, I'm sorry. I'm afraid I dont' know him as well as Stewart.
dwc43 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Oh, I'm sorry. I'm afraid I dont' know him as well as Stewart. He did the Dirty Dancin movie, Ghost with Demi Moore, and the truck driver movie Black Dog. Even Meatloaf was in that movie.

Also, I noticed two Dino's. A gold one in the first, and a purple one in the second. Um, I think the car Sinatra drove in C.R.2 was a Dodge Daytona Turbo (probably an draw through Turbo I car ), and Sammy and Dino were driving an early C4 Vette....IIRC Sinatra blew the doors off the Vette with that little G-Body too On the DVD of the first movie the Ferrari that Sammy and Dino used belonged to Hal Needham (as did the ambulance Burt and Dom drove.) On the first part of the movie when the Sheik arrived in his Rolls you can see Yates' white Challenger that he used in one of the real C.R.'s too!
Joe Handley Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 . Even Meatloaf was in that movie. Made one heck of a psychopath too
dwc43 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Made one heck of a psychopath too Yeah he did. Who figured he could read a Bible and quote from it? lol I thought that was a good movie though. Especially the stunts with those big trucks. I drove a Mack for about a year one time, and there's no way I would want to do those stunts in one of those things. I think that one guy that jumped before his truck crashed was in the movie "Convy" too.
Corvette.Jeff Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 well, were almost done moving,im still not all set up.lol (sorry cant do the smilies,im on my cell phone)i did find out today that the kit i ordered is from fujimi, not tamiya :/ im just waiting for it to be delivered.lol then its down to ordering more supplys!hahaha. about the dead line, what if we made the deadline for entering the buildoff in a month(this day next month) then the deadline for the build could be in january? its just an idea.
KENNEDYJR Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 What about building the actual Cannonball cars vs the movie cars? Would this be permitted in the build-off as well?
Corvette.Jeff Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 like the real life cannon ball? i believe this is a tribute build to those actors that we have lost.
