Technics Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago (edited) 1989 Ford Mustang Whistler - Revell 1:25 Trans am GT1 class My main idea for the build ended up being that this was a car never fully retired was kept running since 1989, a race car relic. A very detailed kit built out of the box. It was difficult fitting parts and assemblies. Overall I’m really happy with the finish I attempted here and importantly that I got through to the end. Modifications - Made a more suitable looking fuel filler, rear inner fenders from styrene, Self made livery / logotypes and window masks Pros - All new and a first for me was experimenting with pre shading methods, and different types of paint wear, multi step painting with masks Cons - Could always be more detailed, and the final overall fit is not perfect I thought it would be fun to photograph back to back with a stock version. It reminded me of the irreversible race modification option in gran turismo as well as 80s / 90s manufacturer advertisements showing the road version and factory race car side by side. Something I may actively continue to aim to make with active and future projects. Clumsily I overlooked giving it a once over with a static brush to get rid of dust flakes and tiny molecules not immediately noticeable to the naked eye but the camera picked up all my sins! Thanks for following along on the journey. This is likely the last completed build of 2025. Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/scale_technics/ Build Thread - Edited 18 hours ago by Technics 3
Zen Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Well done, looks great! Fitment on these kits is a challenge for sure. 1
