rattle can man Posted Friday at 04:33 AM Posted Friday at 04:33 AM (edited) I've read different techniques for tuck 'n roll on the forum: corduroy, 1/2 round srock, pulling molds from bed covers/ existing patterns and using craft paint; and using "v-groove siding" for MRRs. But I don't recall anyone refernce using MRR "corrugated metal siding". It does have different widths of grooves and ribs. Thoughts or comments? Edited Friday at 04:35 AM by rattle can man spelling
stitchdup Posted Friday at 09:01 AM Posted Friday at 09:01 AM i would expect the metal sheets would not shape to the seats very well. at the very least it will get dents from trying to bend it
Mr. Metallic Posted Friday at 04:38 PM Posted Friday at 04:38 PM For doing the door cards and flat seat inserts the MRR roofing sheet works really well, but like Les said, doesn't work well for anything that needs to be bent. Here it is used to replicate the T+R on the original Little Deuce firewall. I have also used the tile roofing to simulate diamond pleats. Everything here except the seats is plastic sheet 1 1
espo Posted Friday at 04:44 PM Posted Friday at 04:44 PM The only method I've tried was with Plastruct #91519 O-scale Corrugated Siding. The plastic product is imprinted on both sides with a pattern that resembles about a 2" wide tuck & roll pattern. As you can see in the picture it tends to stand too tall on the seat unless you were to cut a relief in the seat surface for it to set down in, to my eye any way. I have seen another builder here on the Forum that has used something called Silly Winks that is a sheet of semi- soft something or rother that you sort of draw your own design into and glue over the seat. I haven't tried it, but their design looked good.
rattle can man Posted Friday at 04:45 PM Author Posted Friday at 04:45 PM Thank you.I was referring to the plastic sheet. maily for flat areas such as door cards, seat inserts, etc. My local shop only carries flat sheets, so I was just wondering how it looked. pictures on the MFG sites aren't always the best.

rattle can man Posted yesterday at 02:02 AM Author Posted yesterday at 02:02 AM Evergreen Scale Models and Plastruct are the two companies I have ordered from for model building. Just make sure you pay attention to the type of plastic so you know what glue to use.
