Zhu Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Well that turned out just peachy didn’t it. A great finale to one of the most interesting & enjoyable threads I’ve read in a long while. I’ve been tagging along from light to line, thanks for the ride Mr C. Davey.
JustBill Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Great job cruz!!! I look forward to seeing this next week in person!!
Sixx Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Here are some comparisons when using the newly released Revell Nova kit, the engine seems more at home on this car!!! <a href="http://public.fotki.com/MCRUZ1/71-chevy-vega-project/71chevyvega6045.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://images44.fotki.com/v1467/photos/0/1307210/7603000/71ChevyVega6035-vi.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a><a href="http://www.fotki.com" target="_blank">Hosted on Fotki</a> <a href="http://public.fotki.com/MCRUZ1/71-chevy-vega-project/71chevyvega6042.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://images49.fotki.com/v1510/photos/0/1307210/7603000/71ChevyVega6032-vi.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a><a href="http://www.fotki.com" target="_blank">Hosted on Fotki</a> <a href="http://public.fotki.com/MCRUZ1/71-chevy-vega-project/71chevyvega6046.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://images49.fotki.com/v1521/photos/0/1307210/7603000/71ChevyVega6036-vi.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a><a href="http://www.fotki.com" target="_blank">Hosted on Fotki</a> <a href="http://public.fotki.com/MCRUZ1/71-chevy-vega-project/71chevyvega6048.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://images44.fotki.com/v1467/photos/0/1307210/7603000/71ChevyVega6038-vi.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a><a href="http://www.fotki.com" target="_blank">Hosted on Fotki</a> I even compared it to the engine from my recently completed Starliner and look at how big it is considering that the Starliner was a pretty big car!!! <a href="http://public.fotki.com/MCRUZ1/71-chevy-vega-project/71chevyvega6049.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://images47.fotki.com/v1476/photos/0/1307210/7603000/71ChevyVega6039-vi.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a><a href="http://www.fotki.com" target="_blank">Hosted on Fotki</a> <a href="http://public.fotki.com/MCRUZ1/71-chevy-vega-project/71chevyvega6050.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://images50.fotki.com/v1514/photos/0/1307210/7603000/71ChevyVega6040-vi.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a><a href="http://www.fotki.com" target="_blank">Hosted on Fotki</a> Hey Cruz, I stuffed that same motor in my 49 merc. cruz Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 Hey Cruz, I stuffed that same motor in my 49 merc. It was tight in there too! It does look at home there though!
Dr. Cranky Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Very cool. I've always liked Vegas and Pintos.
Hoosierfarmboy Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 This is one of the best project posts I've seen. I like the idea of the Wankel Rotary in the Vega. Too bad Chevy didn't do that. Or they should have used the 151 Iron Duke engine to begin with.Looking forward to UG posts. Keep up the good work.

Like Cruz said before Randy, go to the previous page of this thread and you will see it finished, he completed this build about a year ago.
Fe2o3 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I know this is an old post, but if it hadn't shown up, I'd probably have never seen this gorgeous piece of workmanship without a search. I also happen to be an old Vega freak and that made reading the thread even more enjoyable. Thanks Cruz!
dimebolt Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Awesome Vega Marcos. That thing just looks killer. Corey
