Nick F40 Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/14/le-mans...ntled-f1-teams/ HECK YEAH, that's all I got to say
Nova-ss Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I think that it can be a good thing, but I hate seeing F1 die....but it is going to either change or go away, cause it can't keep going the same way it has been.I use to watch Nascar all the time every race and event, but I only watch it every once in awhile...its terrible.the way it is run,it like they care more about money then anything else.the racing and people are important.caging the racing cars destroy's racing.the racing drivers don't get to push the cars to there max cause the cars are not at there max there locked up in rules for various reasons.sometime is going to change with F1,if they go to Lemans it don't bother me any,it will need to be expanded, but that is great....why not. Thanks,Chris
Nick F40 Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 EXACTLY, nice to see someone else with sense. It's just going in the wrong direction it seems and switching over would be sweet with all the teams.
Zoom Zoom Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Did you catch the chatter on Speed during the race where they said Luca di Montezemolo had stated that he'd very much like to see Ferrari compete in LMP1? If that isn't a big 4Q to the FIA and Bernie, nothing is. Not that Ferrari didn't completely dominate GT2, so they're already well into sports car racing and winning...and keeping Porsche on their toes. Good stuff. I can't wait to see how Corvette does in GT2. Sports car/prototype racing is likely going to benefit at the expense of F1's incessant rule-changing and excitement-choking madness bringing down that house of cards. I feel like Bruce Willis saying "Yippie ki yay, muddertruckers!"
CAL Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 It just wasn't Ferrari. Which there is some speculation they are already working on a LMP1 car. Toyota and BMW showed lots of interest, especially Toyoty who said they would very much like to come back to LeMans with a LMP1 car.

I feel like Bruce Willis saying "Yippie ki yay, muddertruckers!" oh yes, I did which I think is great! I think the Audi commercial is a hint......I agree though It just wasn't Ferrari. Yes, which is what I wanted for a while now and it looks good, both you guys have the points that are being maken. I don't know if FIA takes clues.....
PlasticWagens Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 (edited) Speed is doing a phenomenal job of covering and educating its viewing audience on Lemans and sports car racing in general. 2 years ago you could not pay me to watch it, now I am actually making time to watch it. It is starting to be like GTP & Trans Am back in the days when Tommy Kendall was running it and getting good coverage. To me there is no excitement in watching F1, never has been and never will be. Mad respect for the equipment and engineers, no respect for the sanctioning bodies or promoters. Edited June 18, 2009 by PlasticWagens

I've really enjoyed their F1 and sports car racing coverage this year. A few years ago, I'd given up on Speed--thought it had become the NASCAR channel..
Nick F40 Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 It still 95% is. If you notice too that when they show coverage they make sure they drag the beginning and end of the race out. With some others it start the race right away and when they finish maybe talk to the winner, say the next race and done. F1 used to be great! Sports cars are still. Speed lost it's good coverage when it lost it's vision.
