Rob Hall Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I'm getting the dry heaves now...it's one of those things that once you see it, you can't un-see it.
Harry P. Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 Seriously... green flames on a pink car???
B_rad88 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I kinda like it question? are you sniffing paint?
george 53 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Harry, I THINK this thing STARTED life as a 57 Ford Ranchero, with the Chrysler front an rear quarters on it. Really somethin, the fact that the dude could build it while on some REALLY BAD acid!!!
Steven Zimmerman Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I LIKE IT TOO ! ! ! It perfectly exemplifies the '60's Ed ' Big Daddy' Roth look. 'Nuffsaid...............
Jon Cole Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 What's that? You're all madly in love with it? Well, in that case, here's a few more pics! Hey! At least it has a beer tap. Helps drown the pain. What a Freak Show!
Lownslow Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 What's that? You're all madly in love with it? Well, in that case, here's a few more pics! Hey! At least it has a beer tap. Helps drown the pain. What a Freak Show! who can hate that car that thing is sweet
chrismooney Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) Drugs are BAD!!!!! OK? Edited August 28, 2009 by chrismooney
chrismooney Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Ok Ok one more is it me or does this car scream PMS
Dragline Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 That is very tough on the eyes. Roth was too cool for THAT. Dobbertin.... maybe. Looks like Pimp My Ride got a deal on pink paint and had at it. It has cool elements, but as a whole, it needs to be in a hole. Of course, I wear checkered Vans so what do I know? Bob F
voljeepx Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 There are way too many things going on with this vehicle. Looks like it was built over a loooooong period of time and they put in whatever fad was hot at the time! The interior looks like something Peg Bundy would design! And what's up with the pink gun? I can't believe Dupont let them park that abortion near their display trailer!
Rob Hall Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I LIKE IT TOO ! ! ! It perfectly exemplifies the '60's Ed ' Big Daddy' Roth look. 'Nuffsaid............... I guess Roth stuff is a 'you had to be there' or a generational thing...I find most of his stuff to be pretty tacky and tasteless. Kind of like the Tom Daniel kits..zero appeal to me.
vizio93 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 WOW i can't stop lookin' at. :P every time i try and look away it from it it follows me.
Sixties Sam Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I'm thinking that if it had a hood with the engine under it (maybe just a scoop sticking out), it would be kinda cool in a tacky, campy way, sorta like pink plastic flamingoes in your front yard!
Modelmartin Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 It's definitely impressive! It looks like a GM pickup cab in the middle of all that chrysler sheet metal. It does bring to mind the idea that just because you can put all of "that" into one car it doesn't mean that you should! I think it will look horribly dated in ten years. Remember all of those crazy ISCA show cars drom the 70s like the mid-engine vette with 4 turbos, etc.
Jon Cole Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Actually, it reminds me of the SMP 3 'n 1 kits, with all those crazy "custom" parts. Kids would glue all that junk on, not because it looked good, but perhaps because 'it was there.' Wretched excess! Just like an old Roth or Barris creation.
rick6343 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Ok, here goes- (donning flameproof underwear...) Is it silly and overdone? Yes and yes. Absolutely. With that in mind, I actually like it. And I don't like show cars/show rods/etc. And I don't like the roof-the pickup roof (or whatever that is) doesn't work. But the rest of the car, keeping with the silly and overdone theme, is ok by me. Including (especially) the green flames on pink. I'll even say that it's nowhere near as ugly as the MINI coupe mentioned in another thread.
Guest Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I kinda like it Ditto, and I usually dont care alot for customs. It's daring, diffrent, and unusual.
RyanSilva Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 That car is beautiful, knock it all you want, but there is tons of custom work on it, and very very well done. It's called the "freak show AKA pink freak" built by Bill Bierman based on a 64 chevy... read this http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/autos/col...DF?OpenDocument
