Ramcharger Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Every year our model car club has a same kit night. You have a year to build it, and we see who built the best at our Christmas party. I've been working on mine, so I thought I'd share. Comments welcome! Thanks for looking!
oldscool Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Wow! What a great look If it were mine I would bob those rear fenders a bit to go with that sectioning job.
Ramcharger Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 I thought about it, but I want to get the bodywork finished on the main body before I look at the fenders. I should have it in primer by the weekend, then I'll decide. I'll post more photos then.
Ramcharger Posted October 31, 2009 Author Posted October 31, 2009 Updates! I finally have all of the bodywork done and I hope to get some paint on it this weekend. This thing has been a real pain to get straight. I'm not real happy with the grille, I need to do something else for that. Here's the primer shots: Enjoy!
Foxer Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 This is looking really great! I'm assuming the back of hood and the grill are just in mockup and are going down so it's all a smooth line. The section ... and NO channel ! ... looks grand and just right. Loving this look!
Custom Hearse Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 That looks great! I like the top chop! Looking forward to seeing more!
Joe Handley Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Is this going to a rat or period show style rod?
Fletch Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 The overall build looks fantastic. Great concept, great execution. But, you're right the grille needs something to give it the attitude of the rest of the bodywork. If you have access to the blank grille insert from the '32 5 Window Coupe you might take a look at that and add some speed holes to it or do a Salt Flat thing and just add a snorkel opening at the top of the blank insert. Something along these lines, just a suggestion. Hosted on Fotki
Ramcharger Posted November 2, 2009 Author Posted November 2, 2009 Is this going to a rat or period show style rod? Show rod, I laid some paint on it yesterday. It'll have the white interior and pearl paint. Thanks for the ideas for the grille, I hope to have some clear on it tonight, then I can start putting it together.
Ramcharger Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 Here she is with paint. I have a few odds and ends to paint before assembly, I hope to get it together this weekend. Enjoy! As usual, comments welcome!
belowambient Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 that is an outstanding color... i don't think it would look good on anything else! nice choice!!
