I picked up an old 1974 issue of motor trend for an article that I wanted, and there is actually an ad for a camper that fits a Ford LTD. It looks like you would remove the trunk lid and set on top, it went from the back of the car to just over the roof.

I agree, it is a wei®d camper, and not realistic in the real world, but stranger things have been seen. Someone sent me an e-mail (that I don't have any more) of a cobbled together rig to tow a 6k lb. 5th wheel trailer with an S-10 Blazer! That would mean the trailer would outweigh the Blazer by about 1500-2000 lbs. That's beyond dangerous.

Jordan thanks for the photo of the wied camper funny thing is that today (Thurs 29th Oct) I went to my local newsagent to pick up my copy of the SAE Mag and bingo there it is right in the NNL East 23 write-up so my wife got to see it without ging on this sill laptop of mine, she thinks it's the stupidist thing someone has ever built on any of the forums that I'm on but hey as she says "each to their own and it takes what U fancy", I think the guy who built it is like me very brave to do odd builds and I like it because it's odd. Thanks Jordan for pointing out the photo in the mag and thanks to all who answered my request for help on this wied camper.

Dingo,

The sad part is there are people here in the States that do that to 1:1 cars :D

I think it was a year maybe two years ago I saw someone that had taken a mid '80s Cadilac and did pretty much what the builder did with the Daytona.
