Space Cowboy Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I just finished this nd had to post it for all of you to see. It's AMT painted Krylon Banner Red with matching interior. The engine is a 327 from my parts box.
Crazy Ed Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I Like IT. Those '64 Imp's always look good in Red and you did a Good job inside under the hood and out. But don't you think a Dual Quad 409 woulda filled the Underhood space better Crazy Ed
Reeves Racing Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Nice detailing. One thing to keep in mind is that the plug wires ran down the back of the block and came up from the bottom when the "rams horn" exhaust manifolds were in production.
Guest Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Beautiful, simply beautiful! You have made my heart happy! It's great to see some factory stock work!
Greg Cullinan Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 It looks good in red. What paint is on the block? Seeing a old imp really makes me hate todays 1/1s.

Modlbldr Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Bruce- The Impala looks as good here as it does on the SA site. Welcome to the site. Keep up the good work. Later-
dimaxion Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I like this . I still don't remember the 348 & 409 family having Ram Horn Exhaust . The 327 looks great in this red/red rendition . The battery box was attached to the underside of the body or to the trunk floor . The switch hung down at the right rear quarter panel aft the wheel opening . The screw chassis made the (read short lived) batteries easy to change . The wiring to the grain of wheat (read short lived) bulbs was to be hid in the body . This is why I think the box atttached to the body . I did one working that year and tossed them all out . Read short life . I removed this mess from the one . This is a great SS Impala . Thanx..
george 53 Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Bruce, my much older sister Cilvia had a red 63 SS, her husband had a red 64! Both of them had 327's in them. I never saw a 409 in one till I started goin to the strip around 65(Detroit Dragway). This is the way I usaually saw a SS back in them days, with a good ol 327 4bbl. It looks GREAT!, ya dun it proud!!!
