David G. Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Hello Everybody, My name is David and I live in Phoenix. I've been into building models off and on over the years. I've built many different kinds including an N scale model railroad that I work on when the spirit moves me. But obviously, I'm currently into cars. The number of useful tips I've gained from both this forum and the associated magazine prompted me to finally register and begin participating in the community. I look foreward to sharing this wonderful hobby with all of you. Thanks, David

Foxer Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 (edited) I miss the generic valium capsules ... they made great Buick bumper bullets if you wet the tips and made them pointed with your lips. and if it didn't work the first time, you didn't care .... and, WELCOME David! Raul_Perez Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Welcome!! I also build N scale train layouts. I find it a GREAT break from building model cars. I sold my last one several years ago, so I need to get started on the next one. I also build 1:35th scale WWII dioramas. The skills that you learn in RR and military modeling are priceless when it comes to weathering model cars and such... Later,
randx0 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 welcome it's funny you mention the n scale trains because when ever I sneak into the train section I'm always drawn to them . I look forward to seeing some of your work be it old or new or in progress !
tuffone20 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Hi David and welcome to the best model car forum around. (IMOP) What part of Phoeinx are you in? I just sent you a PM. Marty
David G. Posted November 2, 2009 Author Posted November 2, 2009 Thank you all for the warm welcomes. I've checked out the member's gallery and I'm very impressed by the quality and imagination of much of the work I've seen there. That's another one of the reasons I decided to register with this community. Of course, I also hope to better learn how do do such wonderful and detailed builds. For those who expressed an interest in seeing some of my work, earlier today I added a bit about my latest project to the member gallery. There's also some pics of things I've built over the years on my website. http://www.daveag.com/ Thanks Again, David

David G. Posted November 3, 2009 Author Posted November 3, 2009 Welcome aboard Mate. The crazy trains comes around every 1/2 hr and then every ten mins after that till the first hour of the new day then every 15mins till the 2nd hr then every 15mins after that. Except if it's during a full moon that happens to fall on the second Thursday of the month. In that case it's every 17 minutes for the 1st hour then 12 starting on the 3rd and every alternate consecutive hour until the moon passes completely through the house of Capricorn. Nice work on the Batmobile and nice weathering on the chevy truck and Bullet Mustang. Nice work on the buildings. You train guys really know your weathering.. Thanks

Oldboychas Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hi Dave, Welcome to the circus. It gets to be a three ring extravaganza at times, but it's all fun!! I've lerned more about model building in the short time I've been here than I ever thought possible! (Now if they can teach me to spell....WOW ) Don't miss the Real or Model section. Harry tries to bust our stones every week- you'll love it ! Later, Charlie Bower
