rronning84 Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Truck is by no means done yet but I thought I would throw out these pics of it before it is packed for my move.
M. Scott Borden Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Beautiful Peterbilt! I assume it's the Italeri 378? I also noticed you loaded her with cedar "logs"; your shop will sure smell great and the moths won't eat your trucks! Scott
Old Albion Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Very Nice! That log load combined with the natural light and a very well built truck and trailer makes for one very interesting model. I like it. Dave
Kostas Parchas Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Nice & clean build!!! Nice pictures also! Kostas.
TUFF TIN Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Very nice unit. What did you use for the logs? Must be some kind of small brush from your area. Mike
rronning84 Posted November 15, 2009 Author Posted November 15, 2009 Thanks for all the reply's. Tim I love your site. Amazing work you do. When are you going to do a logger. The logs are cut from a Ceder sapling I had growing on my land.
TUFF TIN Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 I also noticed the stinger for the log trailer. Most modelers miss this item. Nice! Mike
rronning84 Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 I also noticed the stinger for the log trailer. Most modelers miss this item. Nice! Mike I have noticed that. Most of the log trucks I have seen modeled dont have them. Always wondered why. Looks like you have scale weight. Yep. Still a work in progress though. Its eaier for me since I grew up in a logging family and was around these trucks my whole life.
buck smallwood Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Nice Log Truck, Very well done.Im Looking To Build One My Self.... BUCK...
chuckyr Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I have noticed that. Most of the log trucks I have seen modeled dont have them. Always wondered why. What materials did you use to make the stinger and how did you create it?
rronning84 Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 What materials did you use to make the stinger and how did you create it? I actually used one of the straws from a JB Weld liquid metel kit from AutoZone. It was the right shape and size. I just cut it down and painted it up. Nothing special.
rronning84 Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 One thing I would love help on is this. I have no idea how to get started doing weathering.
