removing paint with simple green

Do you use simple green straight or dilute with water to strip paint?

Use it straight.

....and it may take up to a week depending on how old the paint is.....I switched to Purple Power, ya gotta wear rubber gloves but MUCH faster and cleaner. 2 days tops......and it don't leave that Simple Green smell on your model (which stays even after you wash it with soap and water!)

The purple pond won't even TOUCH the stuff Revell used to paint their 63/64 Low rider kits! Even after a MONTH it didn't remove it! All it did was make it easier to SCRAPE the paint off with my finger nail. S.G MAY take longer, but it WON'T hurt you either. And ANY smell that it leaves will go away once you paint it. Who SMELLS a model anyway???

Just yesterday I used Brasso metal polish to remove some paint. The paint was fairly new, though. One advantageis that this is a cleaner that many people will already have around the house.

I dabbed it on with a toothbrush and sealed the parts in a ziplock bag for a few hours to prevent evaporation, then came back and brushed most of the paint off with the toothbrush. It may take a few applications but it doesn't seem to attack the plastic.

WOW, Brasso!!! Haven't used that stuff in a thousand years!!!! But your right, it could clean the crud off'n ANYTHING!!!THAT'S a GREAT hint! Gonna hafta get a can an check it out! THANKS!!!

hmmm .. I haven't used Brasso since cleaning my belt buckle in the Army 40 years ago .. maybe I don't want to recall that
