crazyjim Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 16 hours? You need to pedal that airplane faster.
W-409 Posted October 31, 2010 Author Posted October 31, 2010 Yes, there is waiting few hours in Frankfurt (two hours or something like that...)
rustybill1960 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I am really rolling with your wild body modifications Man!!! AWESOME!!! Love those little bits that you added!! Uhm,that is quite some tail your dragging there too! It looks real good so far! Don't give up, I like it to much! Thank You for sharing MORE PLEASE!!! Later Russ
W-409 Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 Thank you, rustybill! Now I have done some more body work, but I can't spray primer on before I get some material for taillights...
W-409 Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Yesterday at model car show, I bought good looking taillights for this. But if I'm going to use them, I must put some styrene and I must narrow them a little. An other idea is that I use '55 Chevy taillights. I'm not sure about those bullets, because they are maybe "too used" so let's have a see. I bought also graver, made by Trumpeter. I tried to grave those panel lines a little, because now they are lot better. That graver is almost perfect tool for this, I can't find any bad things from it. It's quite cheap also, don't know how is it in dollars, but it cost 5,90 euros to me. Great tool, I say! Hope to have more progress pics pretty soon...
Dr. Cranky Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Great body work, I can't wait to see more.
W-409 Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 Thank you, DamnCranky! Those taillights are not good. They don't really look so good so must change them. I was thinking about '55 Chevy taillights, but they weren't good either. Well, now I'm using home made bullet taillights, not sure, am I keeping them but now while test fitting they are looking ok. Rear bumber was very hard to find, because I wanted smooth and simple, but chromed bumber for this. There are no any good choices for it, not going to buy one... So I used solder for making a new bumber for this. It fits just perfectly. There was also place for bondo in the trunk lid, someone has glued continental kit to there and that place needed some bondo. Now I must sand this one smooth, but it needs more bondo to the underneath of the body and specially under the diving board... Comments and ideas are welcome! Hope to have more stuff soon...
parki Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Looking good Niko. I love the roof with the visor. Very cool Can't wait to see more pics. Anyway I better stop posting and get building I think, LOL
W-409 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Thanks Adam! Well, it has been long time, but that "diving board" didn't look good to me, so I had to shorten it just a little. Also added some more styrene, so it looks thicker now. There are some need for styrene, and bondo, but I guess you can see, that it looks much better now.
Casey Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Yes, that is much better looking. It was looking a bit too much like the Pink Beast custom form the '50's with that extremely long tail. I love the molded in visor too, as it visually lengthens the car even more. I've always liked it when the trailing edge of the rear quarter panels matches the leading edge of the front fenders, and the '56 Chevy definitely has that "leaning forward" look at the front end.
tooltas Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 got the older amt 57 chevy belair use the custom tails out of that
rustybill1960 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Still hanging on Nikko!! Very interested in seeing this jewel finished!! She looks a lot better without the "back Porch" hanging off of it. Looking Good! Thank You for sharing Later Russ
