charlie8575 Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Quick question for anyone here who cares to try and answer. I've been reading that some of you have run across a syringe specifically designed to apply glue. 1. Who makes it? 2. Will it work with superglue? Thanks Charlie Larkin
iBorg Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I think what you're looking for is the Tenax glue kit for liquid glue. It's not bad but care must be taken to keep the applicator unclogged. I have an applicator for super glue that instead of being a hollow tube is solid but forked at the bottom. Also many hobby shops do sell a syringe that has a blunt tip. I find most syringes hold too much glue to be useful. I prefer a smaller diameter cylinder so that a small push of plunger doesn't shoot out a lot of glue. Mike
Fuel Coupe Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I use a dental pick to apply super glue. The really thin super glues I use the forked applicator as suggested
Foxer Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I use the Touch-N-Flow for liquid plastic cement and CA accelerator, but it doesn't work with CA itself. This is a link to a review of it to see what it is. Super glue is just too good to use with most small tube applicators as it will just clog it all up.
Guest southpier Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 handy to apply acc/ superglue is a sewing needle with the eye cut off about half way, giving you a fork. chuck the other end in a pin vise, exactor #1 handle, or a piece of dowel about 4" long and there's a handy glue applicator. when it clogs, just open it up with a #11 blade. i drop some acc on a piece of waxed paper and dip into it.
