Paul B Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I've been luking here a little while and thought I would put up my latest build. I see a few familiar names and qite a few new ones. Looking through the pages there are a lot of great builds here. Not sure if I can keep up with another forum but I'll try. Nowthe model. I used an IH 4300 Race Truck for the tractor and stretched the chassis to give it a longer wheelbase and added a stinger. The engine is a Cummins from a Pete 359. Rear suspension is a Plastkit rubber block walking beam. Wheels are Wicker two holes with Gary Wallace drive tires, and Ertl tires on the steers and trailer The trailer came from the Ertl Paystar logger kit. The trailer was detailed using styrene, spare parts, brass tubing, and vinyl chord. Sheet vinyl was used for the mud flaps on the tractor and trailer. Both tractor and trailer are fully plumbed. Chain binders came from STS. Colors are Dupli Color Chrome yellow and Valspar Hunter Green with silver trailer reach. The Universal Logging decals and the truck number are from the re-released log trailer. I added Yreka, CA to the doors using rub on letters.
falcongeorge Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Nice work. I have a 4300 on the bench right now, although I am doing CF colors with an external frame flatdeck, inspired by a photo on Hanks.Plumbed the brakes last Monday, the engine on the 1st.
Kostas Parchas Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Nice rig! I like the 2 holes wheels. Kostas.
stangman Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Paul this is a nice clean build. I am eventually going to be building one similiar in memory of my father and grandfather. All I need now are reference photos.
