george 53 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Guy's just gotta E-Mail from our forum brother Juergen, over in Austria. He says he ordered some B.F.Goodrich Radial T/A's from Scale Equipment LTD. and he feels their too large for his tires. Does anyone here know IF there's a Co, that sells Decals that fit 25th scale tires? IS there a difference in the sizes that would make a VISUAL difference? Or do MOST decal co.s make a "generic" size decal for BOTH scales? I'd really like to help him out, but I DON'T have an answer for him. Can YOU guy's come up with an answer for him? It would be a BIG help for him, and I'd kinda like to know myself. Thanks Guys!
Chuck Most Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 All the ones I've ever seen were 'bi-scale' (24 or 25 scale) or were for a specific vehicle or kit. I don't ever even recall seeing any BF Goodrich tire decals or dry transfers- 99% of the stuff I see is Good Year for NASCAR models.
george 53 Posted January 22, 2010 Author Posted January 22, 2010 Chuck, they came from Scale Equip. Ltd. and they ARE B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's. He did send me a pic of them. Dave, that would be cool if you knew someone who made those decals. I don't think he'd mind if you PM'd him. Thanks guys.
george 53 Posted January 22, 2010 Author Posted January 22, 2010 Nick I don't know if he shaved them off,or he had a set with smooth sidewalls, BUT the ones he showed in the pics were smooth with the decals on them.
Nick Winter Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Nick I don't know if he shaved them off,or he had a set with smooth sidewalls, BUT the ones he showed in the pics were smooth with the decals on them. oh ok George, I wondered because the set on my '71 Satelitte are BF Goodrich Radial T/A's and mine had raised lettering.
Casey Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 You have to make sure the radii of the arcs is the same for the lettering and the tire. Can he meausure the radius of the side wall on the tires he plans to use and post that info? Are dry transfers or decals the only options for him? Options: Find a set of Arii BFGs. I recall these were real rubber and looked very nice, but I've never had a set in my hands.Use the MPC BFGs with raised letters (not the best looking tires, IMHO)
roadhawg Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Shabo made BFG dry transfers that looked pretty good, but they were slightly oversized too and might be hard to find. Heres what they look like...... [*]Find a set of Arii BFGs. I recall these were real rubber and looked very nice, but I've never had a set in my hands. The Arii BFG DO look good, but they came as big and littles, and the bigs were pretty big.....probably TOO big for 1/25. Heres a set on a Monogram 1/24 T/A...... Good luck!
george 53 Posted January 23, 2010 Author Posted January 23, 2010 Since the change I haven't been able to fix my posts. But what he needs are 25th scale B.F.Goodrich Radial T/A tire DECALS!!! Casey, Yeah, your right, caz it LOOKED like he MIGHTAVE put them on NOT centered on the tire, but they DO look like the Decal/Tires Tommy posted on his Nova. Hopefully we can help him out.
RJWood Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Shabo made BFG dry transfers that looked pretty good, but they were slightly oversized too and might be hard to find. Here's what they look like...... I have a few of these leftover, they do look good when applied. Its not a decal, its a dry transfer lettering. if you are careful, they are not too hard to work with. I'm sure with Juergen's skills he would have no problems. George E-mail me and let me know if this will work for him. There is enough to do 8 tires, and it would be a pleasure to help our forum brother out. Thanks, Ron
george 53 Posted January 23, 2010 Author Posted January 23, 2010 Ronster, you got it Bro! I'm SURE he'd appericiate it! You can actually reach him yourself if you want.I'll PM you his E-Mail addy!
RJWood Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 OK George. I'll contact him and get his address and send em out to him. Can't wait to see what he uses them on!
