I cleaned pools for over 3 years here in the heat of Phoenix. My wife ( whom I thank god for putting up with my hobby  ) and I started our own company but basically gave up with the times being slow. I wanted to represent a truck that I would actually do a route with. Thanks for looking, this will be a longer build as I have to scratch build all the tools and chemical buckets and such. Enjoy! Here is my progress so far. I did the interior and included for the first time I laid carpet down. I started making the pole and net. I also picked up paint buckets on clearance that are about the right size for the Tabs and shock and such. Installed the bar to hold the chem bins in place. I have to do some mods cause the low rider kit even with big tires sits to low. As always comments and suggestions are welcome and Enjoy! framesparetire.jpgframe2.jpgdsidemock.jpgbedstart.jpgintcarpet.jpgintdash.jpg

Carpet is actually a piece of fabric from Hobby Lobby by the bead and bandana sections. They are 4 for $1 lol and not to thick and sticks very well with red tube glue. Thanks for looking!

Well after this project has sat for quite a long time now I decided it's time to get back at it. Only one problem. Wrong kit! The chassis from the street truck will not work at all and a friend found me this stock version. I think I am going to just start over as I made a few mistakes on the body of the first truck. I am not happy with the interior and finishing up the blood on my Sub-Urban truck I got some red dots on this truck. Plus the street truck had the wrong hood, tailgate, and rear panels for the build I needed. I was happy with the real spray in bed liner so I hope to get it right again. Here is some pics of the differences and I will have more soon. Enjoy DSC05219.jpgDSC05210.jpgDSC05212.jpgDSC05211.jpgDSC05214.jpgDSC05218.jpgDSC05220.jpg

Here is a little update. I haven't had a lot of time at the bench lately. Here is the spray in bed liner on the new truck. The bed is not painted yet. I have the most of the engine done and some of the chassis. Tires and wheels are not set yet. I need to wet sand the primer before paint since it seems that some dust or pollen got in it. hopefully next update will have more but thought you guys would like the bed liner. WOW, The stock chassis does sit a lot taller..

Truck is looking good, nice goodies in the bed.

Nice bed liner.

A white carpet in a work truck tho?

A rubber mat might be more practical.

Hey Buddy! Actually I think I'm going to redo the interior. This one is from the first truck and it was suppose to be tan to match but in my experience.. Most trucks I have driven have had a full rubber floor mad with texture like the bed liner. I think I might use the liner to do that.

It also seems odd using the LT console and leather seats. Best thing to do would be flock the back seat (or paint it like vinyl) and use it as a front bench seat, then just use the rear of the cab for tools.

Out here a lot of independent guys just get the better trucks since it's a tax write off and really don't care. It was crazy to see nice Chevy, Ford, Dodge and even Nissan Titan trucks that were the top of the line trucks sitting outside my supply place.

Here is an update. I have a lot more detail work to do and touch up. I want to work more on the dash and etc. The truck is finally starting to take shape though. Enjoy!

Edit. This interior has the rubber floor board treatment

Yes, I've seen quite a variety of pool service trucks around...my pool guy has a small 3 person business and has a couple Toyota Tacomas. Similar w/ yard services...my current yard guy is a one-man operation w/ an F-150, but my previous yard service had a 4-man crew w/ a Silverado and trailer (had to get rid of them---they were flaky when they showed up and kept cutting off sprinkler heads).

The build is looking good..

Some details done now and windows are in. I messed up the back one so I guess I'll have to make a company name thing to go on it and cover the glue that was smudged. Interior and the body are now sealed to the frame. Grill detail and bumper paint are done. I still need to do the top of the rear bumper. Now I am going to scratch build a truck tool box. Here you can see the start of the moch up. I think I'll have the truck itself done by this weekend then time to work on the trade details.

Well the truck itself is pretty much done! I masked everything off and did the rubber side molding, gave it the Silverado chrome parts of the mirrors, Also the hood has been re-painted and hinges installed. Time to work on the trade details. For a 50 pound bucket of 3" chlorine tabs I used a plastic paint bucket from a clearance paint by numbers set from Hobby Lobby. I cut of the open tab and the hinges then did some bondo and some paint. i will be printing out a label for it soon. I also started to work on the truck box more. Enjoy!

Very nice work, Brian. I can see white and other light exterior and interior colors being rather popular in Arizona.

That looks like a nice model, I might pick one of those up for myself.
