badazzss Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Where can I get styrene sheets? I am also looking for tubes or rounds. There for 1/24 scale so I don't want any real big stuff. I have a Home Depot and Walmart close. Thanks for the help.
Jordan White Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Not sure about HD or WM, but if you have any hobby shops around check them out, otherwise you can order online. Site I would suggest is Hobbylinc. I linked you to the plastic section, so you can just search for whatever shape you need (sheet, round-tube, textured, etc.)
Tedly Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 If you have a "Hobbytown" nearby they usually have it. That is where I usually get it. ChrisPflug Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I live in a remote area with no LHS, if you know what sizes you're looking for you can usually find what you're looking for on the popular auction site for a reasonable "Buy it Now" price
wisdonm Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 The ACE Hardware stores in our area have carried sheet styrene for a little over a year. It's in a cardboard display rack. Rather pricey. For thin sheet, I use "For Sale/Rent" signs. Very inexpensive. For thick parts I use gift cards or old charge cards. Gift cards are everywhere from Mickey D's to grocery stores and they're free. I especially like the ones that hang on a rack. Some of them have plastic that is more than twice the size of the card itself. Rods are harder to find. I collect drink stirrer sticks. I guess you could by them in a store. Around here they mark utilities with little flags attached to 1/8" styrene rods. Lawn services use these also. They can be collected in the evening or you can call diggers hot line and they will deliver them to your residence for free. Scale wise they are rather large, about 3".
